South Bay Farmers Markets

Days, hours and addresses for the certified markets are taken from the California Department of Food and Agriculture list of Certified Farmers Markets by county, dated 1 July 2026. Valmonte and Hawthorne are listed from their own sources and are noted below.

What does certified actually mean?

A Certified Farmers Market in California is certified by the county agricultural commissioner, and the growers selling in it are certified producers who may sell only what they themselves grow.

That is the practical difference between a certified market and a street fair with some produce in it. At a certified market the person behind the table is meant to be the person who farmed it, which is why you can ask when something was picked and get a real answer.

Most of the markets on this page are certified and appear on the state list. Two do not, and both are worth your time anyway. They are flagged below.

The Beach Cities and El Segundo

Seven markets across the four cities, and no two are alike.

Manhattan Beach has two. The Manhattan Beach Farmers Market runs Tuesdays 11am to 3pm at 320 15th Street by the Civic Center. The Manhattan Village Farmers Market runs Thursdays 3pm to 8pm at 3200 N. Sepulveda at Rosecrans, which is the one that works after work.

Redondo Beach has three. The certified market runs Thursdays 8am to 1pm at 309 Esplanade just south of the pier. Riviera Village runs Sundays 9am to 1pm at 1801 S. Elena Avenue. And North Redondo runs Wednesdays 2pm to 7pm at 2000 Artesia Boulevard at Green Lane, which most South Bay market lists leave out entirely.

Hermosa Beach runs Fridays noon to 4pm at 1035 Valley Drive at 11th Street, on the Greenbelt side of the city.

El Segundo runs Thursdays 3pm to 7pm at 350 Main Street between Holly and Grand, in the middle of downtown.

Palos Verdes Peninsula

Two, and they are completely different things.

The Palos Verdes Farmers Market is the conventional certified market, Sundays 8am to 1pm at 27118 Silver Spur Road. Note that it sits in Rolling Hills Estates rather than Palos Verdes Estates, despite the name.

Valmonte Farm and Garden at 3801 Via La Selva in Palos Verdes Estates opens for a farm and craft market on Saturday mornings, 9:30am to 12:30pm. It is a working farm rather than a certified market, so it does not appear on the state list. Valmonte Farm and Garden is a nonprofit, and it describes its origin as a way to teach life and job skills to transitional students from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. The produce, eggs, baked goods and preserves are the output of that work. Their site has current details.

Torrance, Gardena, Carson and the Harbor

This is where the volume is.

Torrance is the biggest market in the South Bay and one of the largest in Los Angeles County. It runs twice a week, Tuesdays and Saturdays 8am to 1pm, at 2400 Jefferson Street at Crenshaw Boulevard, on Charles H. Wilson Park. Twice weekly at that scale is unusual, and if you plan a week around a market this is the one that supports it.

Gardena runs Mondays 10am to 2pm at 15446 S. Western Avenue, and it is the only Monday market in the area.

Carson has three through the week: the Carson Farmers Market and the Dominguez Hills market on Tuesdays, and South Bay Pavilion on Thursdays.

Harbor City runs Wednesdays 10am to 2pm at 25825 S. Vermont at PCH, and the Harbor UCLA Medical Center market runs the same day at 1000 W. Carson Street.

San Pedro runs Fridays 10am to 2pm at 396 W. 6th Street at Mesa.

Hawthorne, Lawndale and Lomita

One new market, and two gaps worth knowing about.

Hawthorne launched a weekly market in April 2026, Sundays 9am to 2pm in the Betty Ainsworth Sports Center parking lot, run through the Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce with the City. Because it opened recently it does not yet appear under that name on the state certified list, so confirm before you go.

Lawndale and Lomita do not currently have a market on the state certified list. Lawndale has had one in the past and listings for it still circulate, so if you find one advertised, check it is running. The nearest options are Hawthorne on Sunday, Gardena on Monday and Torrance on Tuesday and Saturday.

Silicon Beach and the Westside

Five more within easy reach if you are north of the airport.

Culver City, Tuesdays 2pm to 7pm at 3843 Main Street between Culver and Venice.

Mar Vista, Sundays 9am to 2pm at 3826 Grandview Boulevard at Venice. One of the better known markets on the Westside.

Marina del Rey, Saturdays 9am to 2pm at 14101 Panay Way at Via Marina.

Playa Vista runs twice: Wednesdays 4pm to 8pm and Saturdays 9am to 2pm at 12775 W. Millennium Drive.

Inglewood, Saturdays 9am to 1pm at 1213 District Drive at Prairie and Century.

More on how that side of LAX differs on the Silicon Beach page.

Which market should you go to?

  • Serious shopping. Torrance, Tuesday or Saturday. Biggest selection and the earliest start.
  • After work. Manhattan Village on Thursday until 8pm, El Segundo on Thursday until 7pm, North Redondo on Wednesday until 7pm, or Playa Vista on Wednesday until 8pm.
  • A morning out. Riviera Village or Palos Verdes on Sunday, or Marina del Rey on Saturday.
  • Something different. Valmonte Farm, Saturday morning.
  • Monday. Gardena is your only option.
