When are most South Bay open houses held?
Most are Sunday afternoons, typically between 1pm and 4pm, with a smaller number on Saturday. Broker caravan opens run midweek and are generally for agents rather than the public. The feed above shows only listings with an open house currently scheduled in the MLS, so it thins out midweek and fills again by Friday.
Do I need an appointment to attend an open house?
No. A public open house is open to anyone during the posted hours. You will usually be asked to sign in, which is how the hosting agent records who attended for the seller.
Should I bring my own agent to an open house?
You can, and it removes any ambiguity about who represents you. The agent hosting an open house represents the seller. If you attend without your own representation and later write an offer on that property, the question of who represents you needs to be settled before you do.
Why do some listings show an open house that has already passed?
Open house times are entered by the listing agent and are not always removed after the event. Always confirm the date and time against the listing itself, or call before you drive out.
