Updated October 18, 2026.
South Bay kids from age 4 through high school can play recreational and club sports year-round, from AYSO soccer and Little League to water polo, sailing, surfing, ice hockey and adaptive programs, and this page lists the leagues and clubs from Westchester to San Pedro with ages, 2026 and 2027 seasons, published fees and links to sign up. Dates and fees are as each organization posted them in October 2026.
Recreational sports here are organized by city and neighborhood. AYSO soccer regions are named for the cities they cover, each Little League has a boundary set by street address, and the City of Torrance and Los Angeles Recreation and Parks run their own leagues. Club teams in soccer, volleyball, swimming, water polo and hockey draw players from across the South Bay and use tryouts, evaluations or invitations.

How do Little League boundaries work?
Each Little League is chartered for a set boundary, and a child plays for the league whose boundary includes the family’s home or school address. Little League’s League Finder takes a full street address, the sport and the player’s birth month and year, then names the league and links its website; a city or ZIP code alone won’t return a result.
In October 2026 the finder placed sample addresses this way: Manhattan Beach in Manhattan Beach Little League, Hermosa Beach in Hermosa Beach Little League, north and south Redondo addresses in Redondo Beach Little League, El Segundo in El Segundo Little League, Torrance City Hall in Torrance Little League, McMaster Park in North Torrance Little League, the Walteria area in Riviera Little League, and Palos Verdes Estates in Palos Verdes Little League. Lomita Little League and Eastview Little League in San Pedro run their own registration, and Westchester Del Rey Little League takes girls softball and tee ball players who live or go to school in Westchester, Playa del Rey and Playa Vista. The Challenger Division for players with disabilities is in the same finder.

Questions families ask
Which AYSO region is my child in?
Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach play in Region 18, El Segundo in Region 92, North Redondo in Region 17, South Redondo in Region 34, Torrance in Regions 12, 14, 15 and 16, the Peninsula in Region 10, San Pedro in Region 6, and Westchester and Playa del Rey in Region 7. Carson, Gardena and Lomita families use AYSO’s Region Locator and check with the nearest region.
How do I find our Little League?
Enter your full home or school street address, the sport and your child’s birth month and year in Little League’s League Finder. It names the league whose boundary includes that address and links the league’s website. A city or ZIP code alone won’t work.
When does registration open for the next season?
Palos Verdes Little League opens Spring 2027 registration on November 1, 2026, Eastview Little League’s early-bird pricing runs through November 15, 2026, and Manhattan Beach Little League’s Spring 2027 registration closes January 1, 2027. Torrance’s Winter 2027 basketball registration opens to residents Tuesday, November 17, 2026 and to non-residents Tuesday, December 1, 2026, and the season starts Saturday, January 16, 2027. AYSO Region 17 expects spring registration in early December 2026.
What do youth sports cost here?
Some examples as posted for 2026 and 2027: AYSO Region 17’s Fall 2026 fee ran $170 to $220 plus the $25 national fee, and Region 34’s was $220 plus $25. Manhattan Beach Little League’s Spring 2027 fees run $235 for Tee Ball to $405 for Juniors and Seniors. Torrance’s city leagues are $79 for Fall 2026 flag football for residents, $119 for Winter 2027 basketball and $89 for Spring 2027 volleyball, and Jr. Clippers is free for YMCA members.
Are there sports programs for kids with disabilities?
Yes. AYSO runs EPIC and VIP adaptive soccer in several South Bay regions, Little League has a Challenger Division, Torrance runs adaptive sports and Special Olympics teams for ages 12 and up, and Angel City Sports offers free year-round adaptive sports for kids with physical disabilities or visual impairments.
Where do Carson, Gardena and Lomita kids play?
Lomita has Lomita Little League, and AYSO’s locator points Lomita families to Region 12. Gardena families have the Gardena-Carson YMCA, a Jr. Clippers location with an NFL FLAG league starting November 2, 2026, plus the Lucky Duck Swim Team and Region 16 as the nearest AYSO region. Carson has the Carson Colts, the VELO Sports Center youth cycling program and First Tee classes at Victoria Golf Course.
