Manhattan Beach Unified School District

Manhattan Beach Unified runs five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school, plus a preschool.

Elementary: Grand View, Meadows, Pacific, Pennekamp and Robinson.
Middle: Manhattan Beach Middle School.
High: Mira Costa High School.

Because there is one middle school and one high school district-wide, attendance boundaries only matter at the elementary level. Every Manhattan Beach student continues to the same middle school and the same high school.

El Porto, the northern tip of Manhattan Beach above 45th Street, is in the district and sits in the Grand View attendance area. This comes up often enough to be worth stating plainly.

Check an address

Manhattan Beach Unified does not publish an address lookup tool. It posts elementary attendance area maps as PDFs instead, and the posted maps carry 2015 dates. Use them as a starting point and confirm with the district.

The district also publishes a grandchild attendance permit policy, which matters to buyers with family already in the area.

Student Services: (310) 318-7345.

A boundary map shows how a district is drawn today. Boundaries are redrawn, choice and lottery programs move students, and no address guarantees a seat at a particular school. Confirm any specific address with the district before it factors into a purchase.
